Aeroframe AF500: Quick Answers
QWhat is the Aeroframe AF500?
A 500×500×84 mm die-cast aluminum rental LED cabinet weighing 8 kg and covering 0.25 m² per panel, built for fine-pitch, curved and XR rental work.
QWhat pixel pitches does the AF500 come in?
Indoor P1.25–P4.81 with GOB coating on the fine-pitch models (IP31), and outdoor P2.604–P5.95 rated IP65 front and rear.
QCan the same cabinet build both flat and curved walls?
Yes. The half-arc lock adjusts in five steps from -5° to +5°, so one cabinet family covers flat video walls, gentle curves and cylindrical wraps.
QHow many people does rigging take?
The cabinet is 8 kg and the fast lock is designed for single-person installation, disassembly and maintenance.
QDoes it work with the control system we already run?
The cabinet is configured on an industry-standard control system. We confirm the exact receiving card, sending card and firmware revision against your pixel count and scan mode before quotation.
QCan AF500 and AF1000 cabinets be mixed in one wall?
Yes — they interlock vertically, so 500×500 mm and 500×1000 mm cabinets can share one screen. Confirm the mix with our engineers before ordering.
Meet the Aeroframe AF500 Rental LED Display
The Aeroframe AF500 rental LED display is built for jobs where fine pitch and curved geometry meet the rental road. XR walls, close-viewing keynotes and premium retail punish any cabinet that is heavy, slow to rig, or hard to curve — a single dead pixel or a visible seam is highly visible two metres from the audience.
The AF500 answers with P1.25 GOB fine pitch, an 8 kg die-cast aluminum enclosure, and a half-arc lock that bends the same cabinet into curves, cylinders and right-angle shapes. The same cabinet family covers fine-pitch, curved and standard jobs, so fewer spare-part SKUs sit in the warehouse.
It is the fine-pitch half of the Aeroframe family — pair it with the 500×1000mm Aeroframe AF1000 to mix fine-pitch and large-format panels in one wall. For the full 500×500mm rental category, see our 500x500mm rental LED screen guide.
Why Choose the Aeroframe AF500 for Fine-Pitch & Curved Rental?
Fine-pitch indoor screens and curved creative stages used to need different cabinet families — one for close viewing, another for curves, each with its own spare parts and rigging habits. The AF500 collapses that into one 500×500 mm platform.
A die-cast aluminum enclosure gives you the strength of metal with far less mass — 8 kg per panel. Lighter cabinets lower truss loading, speed rigging and cut transport cost. The high-precision cast body also holds flatness better over thousands of load-ins, so seams stay straight and the picture stays clean.
Combined with single-person fast locks and a half-arc lock that handles straight and curved from one cabinet family, the AF500 lets a smaller crew do more in less time.
Core Technologies of the Aeroframe AF500
Light & Thin: 8 kg Die-Cast Aluminum Cabinet
At 500×500×84 mm and 8 kg, one person can carry, hang and strike a cabinet. Less weight lowers truss loading, speeds rigging and cuts transport cost.
High-Precision Half-Arc Lock for Straight + Curved
The half-arc lock is compatible with straight and arc configurations, with adjustable angles of -5° / -2.5° / 0° / +2.5° / +5°. One cabinet family covers flat video walls, gentle curves and cylindrical wraps.
Fast Lock: Single-Person Installation & Maintenance
A high-performance travel lock lets one person complete installation, disassembly and maintenance, with better load-bearing capacity and higher flatness.
Integrated Design: Power, Receiving Card & Rear Cover
The power supply, receiving card and rear cover are integrated into a single module, reducing cable clutter and setup mistakes. Combined with front/rear maintenance, you can swap a module from either side in seconds.
Front & Rear Dual Maintenance
Quick module replacement from the front or the rear, in different installation situations. On a truss or against a wall, crews can reach the failing module and be back live in seconds.
Corner Protection & Anti-Collision Base
Protective corners plus anti-collision features at the bottom give the modules comprehensive protection in transit and stacking, reducing dead pixels and spare-part cost.
Installing the Aeroframe AF500 Rental LED Display: Rigging, Power & Signal
The AF500 supports lifting, seat mounting, cylindrical, curved and right-angle configurations. Plan the wall in cabinet rows and columns, run power and signal from the same side, then lock panels top-down. Whether you are pricing a single Aeroframe AF500 wall for one event or a touring fleet, that row-and-column plan is what sets the cabinet count, the freight weight and the crew hours.
- Rigging — hang the truss or ground-support frame first, then lift and lock each 8 kg cabinet into place; the half-arc lock sets straight or any of the five arc angles before tightening.
- Power — the indoor AF500 draws a maximum of 600 W/m² and averages 200–300 W/m². Breaker and circuit sizing depends on the pitch, the chain length and the local electrical code; our engineers confirm the final distribution plan with you.
- Signal — the receiving-card model and count are confirmed against your pitch, scan mode and cabinet layout before quotation; cabinets daisy-chain and the last panel terminates. Mixing AF500 and AF1000 in one wall follows the same vertical interlock; confirm the power and signal layout of the mixed array with our engineers before ordering.

Signal & Power Chain
The signal path is source → video processor → sending card → Ethernet or fiber → receiving card → module. Each cabinet carries the receiving-card model and count confirmed per project; cabinets daisy-chain and the last panel terminates.
Aeroframe AF500 Compatibility & Control
Control platform is specified per project: the Aeroframe AF500 is configured on an industry-standard control system, so it works with the processor and sending-card stock you already run instead of requiring a proprietary system. What is confirmed and what still needs checking against your configuration is listed below.
| Category | Compatible | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet interlock | Aeroframe AF500 ↔ AF1000 (vertical) | Interlocks vertically; mix sizes in one wall (confirm your mix with our engineers). |
| Module | 250×250 mm | Shared across the Aeroframe pitch range. |
| Control system | Industry-standard control system — brand and model confirmed per project | We confirm the exact receiving card, sending card and firmware revision against your pixel count and scan mode before quotation. |

When You Should NOT Choose the Aeroframe AF500
Being honest about where the AF500 is not the best fit helps you buy the right cabinet the first time:
- Large flat or outdoor spans — if you are covering a big stage and cabinet count matters more than fine pitch, the 500×1000mm Aeroframe AF1000 covers 0.5 m² per cabinet instead of 0.25 m².
- No fine-pitch requirement — if you only need P2.5 and above indoors, a standard 500×500 series may be the more economical choice — see our 500x500mm rental LED screen guide.
- Arcs beyond ±5° per lock — the half-arc lock steps through -5° to +5°. For tighter continuous-radius curves, confirm the exact radius with our engineers first.
- Under-3 m ultra-close viewing — below roughly 2.5–3 m, even P1.25 approaches its practical limit; discuss your viewing distance with us before committing.
Aeroframe AF500 Troubleshooting
No signal on the whole wall
Check the sending card output and the first cabinet’s signal in. The 500×500 mm cabinets daisy-chain, so a single unseated receiving card takes every panel downstream of it dark — confirm the chain terminates at the last cabinet rather than looping back.
One cabinet is dark
Swap the incoming signal and power from a working neighbour. If the cabinet runs on a known-good feed, the receiving card or power box needs service; both are field-replaceable from the front or the rear, so no cabinet has to come off the truss.
Module replacement on site
Release the module from the front or the rear, unclip the ribbon and power, and fit the spare. The 500×500 mm cabinet holds four 250×250 mm modules in a two-by-two layout, so the position is easy to identify by eye. Recalibrate the module after replacement.
A curved section shows a seam or colour step
Check that both sides of the joint use the same half-arc setting. The lock indexes at -5° / -2.5° / 0° / +2.5° / +5°, and a section built on mismatched settings pulls the modules out of plane, which reads as a visible step at close viewing distance.
Colour wash or pattern interference at close viewing
On the GOB fine-pitch models the coating sits over the LEDs, so a partially seated module ribbon or a scan-file mismatch for the pitch in use reads as a wash rather than a hard fault. Push the ribbon fully home behind the coating before re-sending the correct scan file.
One quadrant of the cabinet dimmer than the rest
The 500×500 mm cabinet carries its four 250×250 mm modules in a two-by-two layout, so a dim quadrant is a single module rather than a whole row. Check that module’s power and ribbon connection first; if the fault follows the module when you swap it with a neighbour, the module needs service rather than the cabinet.
How a Rental House Uses the Aeroframe AF500
This is how the AF500’s weight, fine pitch and arc lock translate into faster load-in, faster strike and fewer crew-hours — the margin a rental company keeps.
How Aeroframe AF500 Pricing Works
We do not publish a single price because the AF500 is configured per project. The final cost depends on pixel pitch, total area, indoor vs outdoor, the receiving-card and controller combination, installation hardware, freight and spare-parts ratio. The finer the pitch, the higher the LED density and the cost per square metre. An Aeroframe AF500 quotation is built line by line — cabinets, control system, rigging hardware, spares and freight are itemised separately so you can compare us against another supplier on the same basis.
Send your screen size, viewing distance and pitch requirement through the form above, and we’ll return a line-item quotation with lead time rather than a ballpark number.
Warranty and spares: warranty terms are confirmed with your quotation. As a rule of thumb for rental fleets, budget roughly 2–3% of cabinet count in spare modules plus a small number of spare receiving cards and power boxes, so a failed card or module can be swapped on site rather than taking the wall out of the show. Confirm the final spare ratio with your quotation.

Aeroframe AF500 FAQs
Q1 What pixel pitches are available in the Aeroframe AF500?
Indoor: P1.25, P1.56, P1.95, P2.5, P2.604, P2.976, P3.91 and P4.81, with GOB coating on the fine-pitch P1.25–P2.604 models. Outdoor: P2.604, P2.976, P3.91, P4.81 and P5.95 at IP65. Every pitch uses the same 250×250 mm module and the same 2×2-per-cabinet layout, so changing pitch changes the modules rather than the cabinet or the rigging plan.
Q2 How much does the AF500 cabinet weigh?
Each 500×500 mm cabinet weighs 8 kg, so one person can lift, install and strike it. Because a cabinet covers 0.25 m², a 10 m² wall is 40 cabinets — about 320 kg of cabinet in total; your rigging engineer can check that figure against the truss or ground-support frame you plan to use. Smaller crew and faster load-ins are the practical result.
Q3 Can the AF500 make curved screens?
Yes. The half-arc lock supports straight and arc configurations at -5°, -2.5°, 0°, +2.5° and +5° per lock, which covers gentle curves and cylindrical wraps from the same cabinet. The angle is set before tightening, so one cabinet serves a flat backdrop and a curved volume. For radii tighter than the lock steps allow, confirm the exact radius with our engineers.
Q4 Is the AF500 front or rear serviceable?
Both. Front and rear maintenance is supported, with an integrated power-supply, receiving-card and rear-cover design for fast module swaps in different installation situations. Front access matters when the wall sits tight against a set; rear access is faster when you can walk behind the screen. Both are field-replaceable, so no cabinet has to come off the truss.
Q5 What is the IP rating of the outdoor AF500?
The outdoor version is IP65 front and rear — dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — suitable for wet-weather festival and event use. IEC 60529 defines the IP65 rating. The indoor cabinet is IP31, which suits dry venues only. If the screen faces driving rain, confirm the mounting and drainage plan with our engineers before ordering.
Q6 What refresh rate and contrast does the AF500 deliver?
3840–7680 Hz refresh rate and a 15000:1 contrast ratio, with 12–16 bit grayscale, for camera-accurate, flicker-free images in broadcast and XR. Refresh matters most when cameras are in the shot: at lower rates you get banding and rolling bars on video. The 160°/160° viewing angle keeps brightness even for seats far off centre.
Q7 Can I mix AF500 and AF1000 cabinets in one screen?
Yes. The 500×500 mm cabinet interlocks vertically with the 500×1000 mm cabinet, so you can mix sizes in one wall to match the stage area. Both use the same half-arc lock angles, so a mixed wall curves consistently. Confirm your intended mix with our engineers so we can check the rigging plan and the load path.
Q8 How many AF500 cabinets do I need for a 10×5 m wall?
A 10×5 m wall is 50 m²; at 0.25 m² per cabinet you need 200 cabinets plus spares — a 20 × 10 array at 500×500 mm. Send your exact size and pitch and we’ll compute the array, the cabinet count, the freight weight at 8 kg each and the spare-part ratio for your quotation.
Q9 What is the lead time and MOQ for the AF500?
Production lead time and minimum order are confirmed with your quotation rather than quoted as a fixed figure, because the cabinet count, the pitch mix, any certification pack you need and the shipping method all move the schedule. Tell us your project size and destination and we will return the schedule that applies to your order.
Q10 What certifications does the AF500 have?
Certificates for CCC, CE, RoHS, FCC, CB, TUV and IEC are available with your order. Tell us your destination region and we’ll send the certificate pack that applies to your project. CE is the route for the EU and FCC for the US, while CB and TUV reports support local approvals in other markets. RoHS covers restricted substances.
